DGP praises SPOs, terms resignation reports as ‘rumours’ | KNO

Srinagar, September 22 (KNO) : Praising Special Police Officers (SPO) for doing good job for the security of the people, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh has termed that the reports about the resignation of militants as ‘rumours’. DGP said that the attack on policemen is the tactic of militants, which they have done in the past as well but there are over 30000 SPOs in the state who are doing wonderful job, saying that these SPOs are working tirelessly in the interests of people and everybody including civil societies, general public is appreciating their role. He said that they are proud of their SPOs and the reports about their resignation is only rumour mongering, saying that in case any such issue will come to fore they will look into it. DGP also said that some welfare measures for Special Police Officers (SPOs) are under serious consideration of the Government and will be announced soon.(KNO)
